Wine 101 – A break from work… and bit of fun…

It’s a beautiful gray sky Sunday here in Portland… what’s new. (no, that’s not me in that picture over here >>. You’ll learn who it is in a bit)
Anyhow, I wanted to write a quick little post that is anything but on real estate investing. In fact, this is so far away from real estate that I think it will be a good change for the weekend.
I love life.
I like to have fun.
And my businesses aren’t my whole life. In fact, they are just a small part of my life… and really are pretty much in existence so I can live the life I want to live and have a fun life.
Where am I going with this?
If you’re always racking your head against the wall wondering why you aren’t as successful in real estate as you want to be…
… you seriously need to stop worrying about it. Worrying about why you haven’t achieved something actually gets you further from where you actually want to go.
So, where does the title “Wine 101” come in?
A couple years back I really started to love wine. To me, wine is more than just another alcoholic drink. It’s kind of a lifestyle.
Drinking and collecting wine can be a hobby… and is a great way to relax and shoot the breeze with your friends.
Anyhow, a few months back I came across a site call Wine Library TV. You’ll have to check it out… because what I tell you won’t give it justice.
WLTV is a crazy online tv show of this guy named Gary Vaynerchuk who has more passion and enthusiasm for wine than most people have for life.
His business is doing $50 million a year too… and it’s not because he went out and never took action… always thought about why he didn’t achieve success… etc.
He’s a success because he is living his passion. He has fun everyday doing what he does.
Do you love doing what you do everyday?
Most people I’ve come across don’t. To me, that’s a crappy way to live life. I know some real estate investors who are the same way. They don’t enjoy what they do, because their true passion isn’t in real estate.
So, while real estate investing is a great way to reach your life’s goals… if you aren’t truly passionate about real estate… I’d tell you to NOT try to force it on yourself.
NO PASSION = LACKLUSTER LIFE
If you are passionate about real estate, put that passion to work today… not tomorrow.
Take a break from work every now and then… have fun
Another reason I bring up Gary and Wine Library TV is because I love wine. Wine Library TV is kind of like Wine 101 for people that love wine… aren’t stiff and boring… and like to try new things. I seriously watch WLTV every week day. It gives me a 15 minute break everyday to wind down, have a laugh or two, and be thoroughly entertained for those few minutes.
So, if you like wine at all… check out Gary V. and Wine Library TV sometime. It’s funny as heck, very informative, and is a good way to pull away from the pressures of work and life in general.
Two things:
- Go where your passion is. If it’s not truly in real estate, re-think your goals with real estate investing.
- Take a break everyday to wind down and have a laugh or two. People need a good balance of work and play everyday. If you have too much of one, your whole life will suffer. I know… I used to seriously either work or think about working at least 18 hours a day. It’s not healthy.
So, check out Wine Library for a bit of entertainment this week… and find your true passion in life and go for it.
