New York’s Most Expensive Co-op is a Fixer

1060 Fifth Avenue
Published reports say a co-op located at 1060 Fifth Avenue (at 87th Street) has gone to contract for a whopping $46 million. And it needs work (don’t they all). This makes it New York’s most expensive co-op sale to date, besting Rupert Murdoch’s $44 million dollar purchase of a Fifth Avenue triplex back in 2005 . Brown, Harris Stevens had the listing.
This whopper is a 17 room, 7 bedroom duplex penthouse with a 114.5 foot long terrace wrap around terrace. (It’s actually a 12 room apartment and a 5 room penthouse. ) The seller is poet and writer Georgia Shreve. The buyers are Scott and Donya Bommer. He’s a hedge fund whiz kid and she a former anchor with Good Day Philadelphia.
Good luck kids — It’s not because one of the apartments is on the 13th floor but that the apartments need to be combined — and that requires Board approval.
